SACRAMENTS: EUCHARIST
The Faith Formation
Office welcomes parents to prepare their children in the
sacramental preparation process for First Eucharist. We are
pleased to support you as the “domestic church” and look
forward to helping as you prepare your child/ren to receive this
sacrament. A child is eligible to prepare for Eucharist if
they are in Grade Two or above. A minimum of one full
year’s attendance in Faith Formation, either in the Sunday
program, Family program, Home Based (neighborhood), or one of
the local Catholic Schools, is
required immediately previous to the year in which a student is
accepted into a Sacramental Program. The child must also have been prepared for Reconciliation prior
to preparing for First Eucharist.
See this
link for further information.
We
are excited about our sacramental materials as they are family
based which allow you, as the parent/guardian, to teach and
share your experiences of the sacraments with your child.
The process begins with a parent meeting where we will
provide you with the texts for First Eucharist and answer any
questions you may have. We
offer a family day in March when we invite the whole family to
help prepare your young person for the sacrament.
We also offer a Eucharist Family Teaching Mass that
explains the liturgy of mass in a most entertaining manner.
Most of the children will receive First Eucharist in
April and May, during the season of Easter.
Please fill out the form below if you wish to enroll your child
in the Sacrament Preparation program.
