STAND – Child and Youth Protection Certification

In order to volunteer with children or youth here at St. John the Evangelist parish, the Archdiocese of Baltimore requires volunteers to complete the Archdiocesan Child Protection training, known as STAND.  There are four steps for certification:

1)                  Attend the STAND training session offered monthly at St. John Parish OR do the training online.

2)                  Complete all necessary paperwork for volunteers.

3)                  Computer and Reference checks are completed

4)                  STAND card will be mailed to volunteer.

STAND TRAINING

Is generally offered the second Wednesday of the month, from 7 – 9 PM in the Notre Dame Room of the Parish Center .  Please call Erica May at 301-662-8288 , ext 1100 to register for the training.

**STAND training will not be held unless we have confirmation by the day before the training that people are going to attend.

STAND ONLINE TRAINING

  • Go to www.archbalt.org
  • On the left side scroll down to Child and Youth Protection
  • Highlight STAND Training
  • Go to and follow the instructions that say: To attend STAND Training online, at any computer at any time, please click here.
  •  The user name is “stjohnfrederick” and the password is “archbalt”.
  • When you have finished the training remember to type your name on the certificate BEFORE you print it.  We can not guarantee that the certificate will be honored if your name has been handwritten in.
